Constable Bill Gipson is a military veteran and experienced community leader with 22 years of criminal justice and law enforcement experience. He was elected to office in November 2018, beating the Republican incumbent with over 55% of the precinct vote. Constable Gipson has brought integrity and strong management skills to the office of Dallas County Constable, Precinct 2, which includes Garland, Mesquite, Sunnyvale and Rowlett (Dallas County); also, parts of Sachse, Balch Springs, and Dallas (east of White Rock Lake) are also located within Precinct 2.
Prior to being elected to office, Constable Gipson served as a Senior Sergeant Criminal Investigator in the Juvenile Division of the Dallas County District Attorney's Office. He was responsible for a range of tasks, from collecting evidence, to conducting investigations of criminal cases, to participating in jury selection. Constable Gipson also worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
